Hit areas for users with motor impairments

[°®¶¹´«Ã½ comment - user with using assistive technologies due to motor impairment struggles with the hit area to open the main site navigation]

[user's voice] I like having these buttons here at the top, this 'Study' and the drop-down menu. Something I would want to recommend is that maybe... I click it, but nothing's happening.

There we go. Takes me, it takes it a while I think. I don't know why. I'm gonna do it again. But once it's there, once it's like on, it's easier to push so I mean just that's just one thing I want to point out. [°®¶¹´«Ã½ comment - we have since increased the hit area to make it easier to target]

Text to speech software issues with tabbed content

[°®¶¹´«Ã½ comment - user with text to speech software explains his experience of using the site and how tabs could be improved]

[computer voice] staff, accessibility options, a place where you belong, find out more, one of three, two of three, three of three

[user's voice] yes, in regards to the text to audio, most of it worked quite well I had it on too quick there, but it was pretty clear. There was one section in the homepage where it got a bit muddled, I'm not sure if it's to do with, sort of, data on the page but rather than just being clear and going through the description of what each thing is, which it got to and it was very clear from like 'Potential + possibility' onwards but it started like reading out what the tabs are, and sort of saying random numbers and like unhelpful information. I mean, that might not be the design of your website that might just be a fault with Apple's software, but that's something that I noted [°®¶¹´«Ã½ comment - we have now improved the way tabs work on our site for screen readers through a better use of Aria roles]

Text to speech software issues with main site navigation

[°®¶¹´«Ã½ comment - user with text to speech software explains the site and how our navigation is being read out in full even when not in focus]

[computer voice] close, study, research and enterprise, about us, business and employers

[user's voice] you see it's doing it just there, that bit specifically. Right so yeah, that was pretty clear the way it went down. Again it just did that thing right at the beginning where there's something... it's picking up the text-to-speech which is kind of unnecessary information. It'd be good if it just went straight to, you know, studying here and then listed them [°®¶¹´«Ã½ comment - the site navigation has now been changed to prevent this from happening again]
