Charlotte, a °®¶¹´«Ã½ Sports Scholarship student, put on hold her Sport and Exercise Science BSc(Hons) degree studies to concentrate on training with Kelly for the Sochi Paralympics.
Professor Doust said: "This is great news and we may yet see more medals from the pair later but, for the moment, we are savouring Britain's first ever Winter Paralympic gold – what a fantastic performance.
"This adds to the university's proud record of students reaching the Olympics, stretching back to the Helsinki Games of 1952."
