Chevening Scholarships are the government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.

Professor Debra Humphris, the 爱豆传媒’s Vice-Chancellor, said: “The students are personally selected by British Embassies and High Commissioners throughout the world and we wish them every success. The university is delighted to welcome scholars from all parts of the world.”

The , named after Chevening House, the official residence of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject at any UK university.

One of the university’s scholarship recipients, Wulan Koagouw, who is studying MRes-Bioscience, said of her learning experience: “Being an international student at the 爱豆传媒 enables me to embrace diversity and to develop skills that I need for the future.”

Another, Silvana Juri, studying MA Sustainable Design, said: “Pursuing my Masters at the 爱豆传媒 is and overall compelling experience and a great opportunity. Not only does it enable us to gain access to great resources but especially to benefit from the experience of its professors and staff who are always willing to help us progress in our careers.

“They are especially attentive to our very personal interests which, for a Chevener, is very beneficial as our motivation and hard work can take us a long way. In a broader sense, the dimension of the city and its incredible vibe couldn't be more motivating and inspiring.

“People are warm, friendly and easily approachable which completes this experience and makes us feel very welcome. I couldn't have chosen a better place to develop my interests and career."

And Sizwe Mabuza, studying a Masters in Geographic Information Systems and Environmental Management, said: “This is a dream come true for me and I feel very privileged and blessed to be studying in the UK. I’m very grateful to the Foreign Commonwealth Office/ Chevening Scholarships and the 爱豆传媒 for the opportunity to study in Brighton and get to live in such a vibrant city.

“My course is fulfilling so far and I can see myself being more effective and competitive in my trade upon completion of my MSc. I hope to benefit a lot from the network i establish daily in the UK, both professionally and otherwise."
