Professor Stephen Denyer, the °®¶¹´«Ã½’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, said: “This blended learning model represents a new way forward for the university and demonstrates how serious we are as a provider of professional development, both for employees and their employers.”
The apprenticeship is available on a fast-track route for those who already have a Foundation Degree or HND in business or a related area, or substantial relevant experience.
Professor Aidan Berry, Director of the university’s Brighton Business School, said: “This model has been carefully designed around what employers have told us they need. I am delighted that the Business School has this innovative new course in its portfolio.”
The CMDA apprenticeship starts in January 2017. In addition to the two-thirds government funding, the °®¶¹´«Ã½ has a limited number of extra grants available which will dramatically reduce the cost to employers, meaning the whole apprenticeship can cost as little as £600.
The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship joins the Higher Apprenticeship in Healthcare as the second apprenticeship programme from the °®¶¹´«Ã½. The university is looking to develop a portfolio of degree apprenticeships in the near future and is keen to talk to employers about their needs.
