The event was held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading where London Irish played host to what was the first event of its kind.
Run by the club’s community team in conjunction with Premiership Rugby’s Project Rugby Programme, teams from Irish, Worcester Warriors, Wasps, Saracens and Bath took part in a coaching clinic and tournament.
The event was designed to break down barriers and provide new opportunities for people with disabilities.
London Irish Inclusive Officer Joseph Pegg told the local newspaper: “The °®¶¹´«Ã½’s women’s rugby team, who helped with the running of the day, deserve a special mention.”
Fourteen of the club’s players took part, splitting into pairs and helping people with a variety of disabilities, some in wheelchairs.
They were rewarded with tickets for a London Irish vs Worcester Warriors game, and with being asked to provide a guard of honour for the players at half-time.
