Through sales of Life Water from catering facilities across all of its campuses, the university has raised funds to provide clean water to 1,865 people who have hitherto faced challenges accessing such a resource. The new water source is a bore-well.
The university has been in , an ethical water company that funds the development of clean water projects worldwide, since 2014. The organisation has a partner charity, Drop4Drop, which works to deliver clean water across the world.
The Bachepalle community has a population of over 1,800 people who, up to now, have had to rely on a single water tank which has been filled weekly by the Indian government. The tank is often empty, leaving members of the community with no choice but to walk to neighbouring settlements in search of water.
