The students, in their final year of the Fashion Communication with Business Studies degree, are showcasing their vibrant designs on the walls of the space in the Duke’s Lane shopping area in Brighton. They have also hosted activities including yoga and knitting sessions.
They are raising funds for the end-of-year Graduate Fashion Week, which takes place in London in May. The ‘pop-up’ space is open to the public until Sunday.
Natasha Perkins, one of the students involved in the takeover, said: “Using this space has been really beneficial for us because it gets a lot of people interested in the kind of work we’ve been doing. It’s really interesting to see people’s takes on the work we do, because it’s a very broad course.”
Georgie Clarke-Gifford said: “It’s a great opportunity to showcase our work. People have been really curious about what’s going on here and it’s a good way of representing the course. Hopefully we’ll keep doing things like this in the future.”
